Like some of my other drawings this picture is an
illustration of what I feel God has been saying to me over a period of time,
starting shortly before the creative process and evolving all the way through
it.
This is not meant to be an interpretation of the picture.
Rather the picture and the words here are two dimensions of the same, that I
hope will work together.
The Torch Bringer speaks about the light of God’s presence.
It speaks of the double blessing that will follow as we
step out to seek Him unashamedly and without compromise. It also expresses the
dynamic and yet intimate process of a growing relationship with Jesus.
Through this drawing the Lord has been saying to me: “As you choose Me above all other, the light
of my presence will be with you. New life will spring up on the paths that we
walk together and desert places will be transformed. As you choose Me above all
other, the light of My love will grow in you, giving birth to My dream for your
life. As you choose Me above all other, the light of my presence will
overshadow you, growing brighter as you persevere in our walk.
From
this place where we meet I will lead you into the fullness of My love and grace
for you.”
The focus is strong. So it is with us as we follow and
seek our Beloved. This is a season to come to Him without holding back, a
season when His light and life invade the earth as we follow His call. His song
resonates in the depth of our hearts. How can it be denied!
